Alessandra Conte, born in 1978, graduated in pianoforte at the Conservatory "A. Pedrollo" in Vicenza. She lives in Dueville, in the province of Vicenza, where she teaches piano and music appreciation and studies modern literature at the University of Padua. Her poems have appeared in the anthologies Il Segreto delle Fragole (The Secret of Strawberries)(2005) and Ti bacio in bocca, (I Kiss your Mouth), published by Edizioni LietoColle. She was awarded honourable mention in the Rai Radio 2 poetry competition "Poeti per Posta 2004" and her poems were read on the live radio broadcast "Caterpillar". In 2005 she was short-listed in the "Under 29" competition of the Unione Terre di Castelli in the province of Modena, and in 2006 in the "Poesia di Strada" (“Street Poetry”) competition of the City of Macerata. She has taken part in poetry readings in the Mondadori bookshops in Milan and Venice and at the Società Letteraria of Verona. In 2005 she participated in the RomaPoesia competition with two video-poems directed by the video-maker, Lorenzo Brasco.
